A little about me...I embarked on my administrative journey in 2004, shortly after her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts with the Business Administration Option from Wilfrid Laurier University. Over the years, I delved deeper into my administrative professional career, earning my Certified Canadian Administrative Professional Designation (CCAP) from Canada’s Association of Administrative Professionals in 2009, and my Diploma in Business Administration from McMaster University in 2013.

 

As a dedicated and self-described lifelong learner, I actively engage in ongoing professional development through conferences, workshops, and learning sessions.  I am a proud member, and current National Director-President, of Association of Administrative Professionals (AAP), as well as an active member of the Canadian Association of Virtual Assistants (CAVA) and was awarded the esteemed title of Canadian Administrative Professional of the Year through AdminsRock in 2024.

 

I prioritizes ongoing growth both personally and professionally.  Beyond professional pursuits, I am a wife to my supportive husband Tom, and mom to two incredible school-aged children, Jasper, and Fiona. 

 

The pandemic was a challenge for many, myself included. By the end of 2020, I was laid off from my corporate role of almost nine years, due to Covid-19 related downsizing and restructuring.  The subsequent 5+ years have taught me to utilize the skills and experiences from my 20+ years in the administrative professional world, and approach future opportunities with flexibility, adaptability, and a continued willingness to step outside of my comfort zone. Coming out of her 2020 layoff, I launched and now run my own freelance virtual assistant business: Gronek Virtual from the comfort of my home-based office in Southwestern, Ontario.
